Allergy and Asthma Facts

  • The number one cause of indoor allergies is dust mites.
  • Each square-yard of carpet in your home can contain up to 100,000 dust mites.
  • Only the revolutionary HALO™ Ultraviolet Vacuum cleaner is designed with technology that can potentially break the life cycle of these pests.
  • In as little as one second, more than 90% of flea eggs and dust mite eggs on surfaces exposed to the HALO Ultraviolet Vacuum’s UV light are destroyed.
What would you spend if you could kill the #1 cause of indoor allergies and asthma living on the carpets and floors without chemicals?
The HALO™ Ultraviolet Vacuum has been independently tested and proven to kill over 99% of certain common germs and over 90% of dust mite eggs and flea eggs on surfaces exposed to its UV-C light for as little as one second. Extent of killing on surfaces depends on exposure time.
DUST MITES:
A typical square yard of carpet can contain more than 100,000 dust mites. It is estimated that dust mite allergies are a factor in up to 50% of allergy cases up to a quarter of asthma cases. Exposure to dust mites in the first two years of a baby’s life can trigger a lifelong allergy or even asthma.
VIRUSES:
The flu is most easily contracted by children six months to five years, adults over the age of 59 and people with pre-existing respiratory illnesses or diseases. The flu virus is passed on through the air and through contact with contaminated materials.
Bacteria:
Bacteria thrive in carpet, even new carpet. Indoor levels of many bacteria can be two to five times higher than outdoor levels.
Mold:
Once you develop a sensitivity to mold, you never lose it. In 2001, two Chicago area schools were shut down due to the elevated levels of mold on all school surfaces, but more specifically in their carpeting and ventilation system. It is estimated that 30% of all people are allergic to mold and mildew.
Fleas:
One female flea can lay about 18 eggs a day. Because fleas usually lay their eggs while your pet is sleeping, your pet’s resting areas and surrounding carpeting are likely sources of fleas and their waste. Even if you don’t see fleas, they may still be there. Flea larvae and pupae can hide and survive on your carpet until adult maturity.
